Power of Attorney to Sign a Lease or Manage a Property in the UAE
If you cannot be here to sign a tenancy contract — or you own property here and need someone to handle the letting of it — a power of attorney authorises them to act for you.
We coordinate the whole process remotely. You do not need to visit an office, and you do not need to be in the UAE.
Which situation is yours?
You need someone to sign a lease for you
From AED 1,250You are taking a property — a flat, a villa, an office — and cannot attend the signing. You are abroad, travelling, or the date does not work. A power of attorney lets the person you choose sign the tenancy contract in your name.
One-off authority for one transaction. It ends when the matter is done. You own property and need someone to manage it
From AED 1,250You own a property here and cannot handle it day to day — because you live elsewhere, or simply do not want to. A property management power of attorney authorises someone to let it out, sign tenancy contracts on your behalf, deal with tenants, and handle the running of it.
Continuing authority — define carefully what your representative may and may not do.What your representative can be authorised to do
Depending on how the document is worded:
- Sign a tenancy contract in your name, as tenant or as landlord
- Renew or terminate an existing lease
- Receive or pay rent, if you want that included
- Deal with tenants — viewings, handover, disputes over the day-to-day
- Handle utilities and connections in your name
- Represent you with the building management or owners' association
Not all of these belong in every document. Authority to receive rent, in particular, is worth thinking about before you grant it. We will ask you what to include and what to leave out — that conversation is the point of the service.
Who needs one
You own property here and live somewhere else. The most common case. You want the property let and managed without flying in for every signature.
You are moving to the UAE and want to secure a home before you arrive. Someone here can sign the lease so the property is ready when you land.
You are leaving the UAE and need someone to handle your tenancy — ending it, handing it back, or letting the property if you own it.
You are appointing a property manager or an agent and they need formal authority to act.
You cannot attend the signing — work, travel, illness, or a date that does not work.
What we will ask you for
- Passport copy of the person granting the authority
- Emirates ID, where the notarization route requires one
- Passport copy — and full legal name — of the person being authorised
- The property details — address, and the title deed if you own it
- Exactly what the representative should be able to do, and for how long
If you own the property, names must match exactly across your passport, the title deed and the document. A mismatch is one of the most common reasons a property document is rejected — we check this before submission.
If you are the tenant, tell us the landlord or agent's requirements if they have given you any. Some ask for specific wording.

How it works
You tell us what you need — message us and describe the situation.
We confirm your price and document list — in writing, before anything is paid.
We prepare and coordinate — including translation and submission to a licensed private notary.
You receive your notarized document — by email, 1–2 working days from the moment we have all your documents.
Processed through official UAE systems
Your document is notarized by a licensed private notary through the official judicial systems in the UAE — Dubai Courts, the Ministry of Justice, or the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department. Nuhuj coordinates the process; the notarization is performed by the licensed notary.

Frequently asked questions
Can someone sign a tenancy contract on my behalf in the UAE?
Yes, with a power of attorney authorising them to do it. The document names them and states what they may sign. We coordinate its notarization with a licensed private notary.
I am not in the UAE yet. Can I arrange this before I arrive?
Yes, and it is a common reason people use us. Verification with the notary is completed by video call, so you can have someone secure a property before you land.
Should I let my representative receive the rent?
That is your decision, and it is worth thinking about separately from the rest. Authority to sign a lease and authority to receive money are different powers, and you can grant one without the other. We will ask you directly.
What is the difference between this and a property sale power of attorney?
This one covers leasing, renting and day-to-day management. A power of attorney to sell or buy a property is a different document with different requirements — see our property page.
How long is it valid?
Validity depends on the document type and its wording. Tell us how long you need the authority to last and we will confirm before you proceed.
Can I cancel it later?
A power of attorney can be revoked. Message us and we will explain what the revocation process involves for your document.
Do I need an Emirates ID?
Not always. Notarization through Dubai Courts requires a valid Emirates ID. Other routes accept a passport. Which one applies depends on your situation, the emirate and the document — tell us and we will confirm exactly what is needed, and the exact price, before you pay anything.
My property is in Sharjah / Abu Dhabi. Does that matter?
We coordinate through the official judicial systems in the UAE, in all seven. Tell us where the property is so the document is prepared for the right authority. The price does not change by emirate.
How long does it take?
1–2 working days from the moment we have all your documents.
Tell us about the property
